hey guys & gals
i have a 97 3.0 with 120k and i went to clean the filter , adn when i took it off i noticed that the ruber boot between the manifold and the chrome piping of the intake was crushed and it sucked up lots of dirt , real fine particals the kind that like to eat rings was in the inside of the pipe of the intake and after cleaning it all out the car runs good still , i never even noticed but i know that i went at least 2k on the crushed boot. so how much is it to have the block ported polished and bored out , new pistons and all that mess.???? has any one done this them selfs lately ? i think that i am just goin to drive the car till it dies,, unless some one wants to buy it?? SO ... my question is should i use one of those engine flushes on the motor oil ?? would that not just break free the built up dirt and put more play in the space between the rings and block?? create more problems or not ??????

120k miles, it's up to you. If you have a port and polish done, all the rings and seals repalced, hell it will run great for quite a while. Your tranny would be all you need to worry about at that point.
