crazy sh*t

so i drop my car off at the stereo place. i want to get my deck put in. (the deck doesnt end

up getting put in, my installer gave me a story about a company shipping him the wrong plug)

I leave the car for 1:30 (one hour thirty minutes). I get the car back. Go home,

drive around a little and then go to work (pizza delivery). I deliver a few pies. I then

notice a slight humming noise from the car. I pick up the fone and call pebecl97 (paul).

he thaught it was the catalytic convert or some type of midpipe. So I figure, eh, I just

cleaned my car (and exhaust tips), so maybe it could be the water i sprayed inside the pipe

a little something. So after about 2 or 3 more deliveries the humming persists. I get worried,

then I go to deliver another pizza and the car doesnt want to shift into 2nd gear, it just

goes straight for 1st to neutral. I start flippin out, tryin 2 start in 2nd and shit and it just

wont pop for me. So im riding down the block in 1st gear at about 4500rpm with my flashers

on, and the lights start to dim on me. I get a little more worried and now the MPH wont read,

the RPM gauge follows my hazards and it pulses up and down as if there is a surge every

time that the blinker blinks. I turn my flashers off, get no reading from any gauges. I then

get to the restaurant and leave the car running. I come back outside after a few minutes

and the cars dead.

MY guess is that when i dropped my car off earlier the guy tried to put the deck in

and fucked up my alternater some how...

some one please give me some f-in idea as to whats goin on.

o yeah i think my tranny is a little slippy 2

A bad alt could be the cuase of all those problems and they usually whine when they are on the way out.

bad alternator gives out no power, no power to run the fuel pump and fire the spark plugs so the fuel won't burn correctly. thus the car won't shift and dies

Well I got my car and had the same trouble. I take it to acura they say its a recall. I get that fixed a week later my alt goes out. I'm like hmm must have bought a limon. I get the alt replaced and other than a few blown fuses due to bad neon installs I have been good. oh if your alt has gone out and you going to replace it get I high performance alt if your looking to do hyper whites or projectors, any kind of high watt lights they will cause a surge on the weak stock one. Just a thought.

there is your problem. he probably put the wrong plug in and it FUCKED the shit out of your alternater. He likely blew a couple fuses too while he was at it. If that's the case, it is the responsibiliy of the installation company to replace your shit. unless you signed it off on some paper before hand saying it wasn't there fault.

You can upgrade you amp to a high output. When my alternator went, I put in a 180amp. If you decide to do this, you'll either have to change the belt or keep the stock pulley.

i think theres a blown fuseable link. those r usually in wire, and theres alot of them. id call the installer and throw a fukin fit. usually a blown fuseable link will be somewhere near the alternator. it obvious, there will be a wire prolly bout as round as O <---- that "o". it will have a rubber piece right in the middle of it and the rubber will be burned. kind of like someone took a lighter to it. if none of those r the prob then id get the alternator replaced. if its still not fixed, check the ecu.

hey roddymerritt the projectors ballast actually pull less power then the stock bulbs. so i dont see how it could be a factor to getting a performance altenator.

Really well I only looked at one kind and it pulled like 100 so thats 40 more than the stock bulb, I also know that my Hyperwhites pull 80 but street glow is makeing one that pulls only 60, same as the stock, and its still hyperwhite. If projo's pull less then that would be the way to go or through out the big bucks and get angel eyes
