I think aamco charged the previous owner something like 1800.00 to fix the one in my car now about 2 years ago (that's what the receipt shows anyway). I bet the price changes from state to state. Like I bet NY and California will probably be higher than here in NC

The torque converter also accounts for a large portion of this, my original estimate was about 18-1900 until they discovered that the TC was bad, and that bumped the price up like $7-800 plus more labor

I have asked this before and never received an answer, is there something you can have done to the transmission that will stop all the problems with these things? I know it may cost a little more when getting it rebuilt but would really like to know if there are any known fixes for these glass transmissions except switching it to a manual

The clutches will help but it won't solve the real issues to why the trannies fail, like lack of lubrication to the clutches.

that was what I was wondering since I have read it was a lubrication issue, if there was some type of modification that could be done to solve it. I don't see how changing to a firmer clutch pack would solve a lubrication issue, it may help it last longer but that's not a fix its just prolonging the problem. I think that really stinks that there is nothing that you can do to these things to make the transmissions rock solid like the rest of the car except switching the transmission to a manual. If there was something that could be done and even if it cost a thousand or two more it would be worth it to actually Fix the problem. I have one more question, is the pedals from an accord and all the hardware attached to them the same as the CL? I am having problems finding all the stuff from an actual CL but junk yards are full of accords that I could get the needed parts from if they will work

AAmco quoted me 1,800 as well with 3yr/36k warranty! This was 2 days ago!

How does it drive with the rebuilt? Not sure if mine is good or bad, but am paranoid from all the posts of problems on here. From a dead stop if I lightly gas it it seams to hesitate a half second from first to second, but no clunks or grinds and the rest of the gears are perfect.
