I, personally, have a lot of respect for a good beater car. Nicely done.

delivering pizzas is the best job i've had.. granted, im a druggy college student it's nice because i get better than minimal wage, and i can work pretty much whenever i want.. i can come home from college whenever and just show up and work.

this is my job: get stoned (dont hate)-- hang out eating free food-- drive around town, listening to music, getting stoned, then drop off some pizza to some dude and get a wad of cash in return.. basically just do that for a few hours.. then go home with a hundred dollars cash in my hand, plus get my paycheck every 2 weeks, and they reimburse me for gas.

i work for papa johns, so it's good food that i get to eat, and usually only people with some money to spare get papa johns because its like twice as much as dominos.. so that means i usually get good tips.

it's just so damn easy and enjoyable.. getting stoned, eating food, driving around listening to music.. ah, i love it.. especially on nice days where you can have the window down.. and i almost always drive fast (if it's busy), because i cant see a cop being too big of a bitch about a pizza boy trying to do his job well.
if it's not busy, i usually just sit back and cruise, because i know im not gonna miss any deliveries if i take my time.
it's a beautiful job.

used to have a 94 galant that i delivered in, but the CL bills were just too high to keep paying the galant insurance too.. and it was starting to crap out a lot, so i sold the bitch for like 800 and threw it towards my CL's suspension.

Man, delivering pizza was awesome. I got paid to do what I love doing. DRIVING. The pay wasn't that good but the tips more than made up for it.

really? this is very interesting! the only thing that might stop me is putting milage on the cl...and i would want to drive that obviously!

but 100$ tips? for driving? and gas reimbursed?...that sounds great!

i'm gonna go see if there are any deals like that around here...

If you live in OK, you either hide, or go find them... Me, I like to go find 'em. And well, as for Bill Paxton, I always wanted to do Hellen Hunt.

why get a beater? I really dont understand you set out money on the car and insur plus the CL which isnt exactly a new car. Why dont you just drive the CL? I know my mom bought mine to commute from medford nj to manhattan everyday and then after the first year with 100k plus miles i got it. It is currently around 280k with no major problems so why not drive it? Im not being an ass i just dont understand why you would have a car you like but never drive it. I plan on getting a new car soon and and i guess the CL would make a good "beater" but i dont understand why i would keep it

the CL is not insured.

i dont drive the CL, insurance is 3.75 x the amount the celica is.

mileage on the CL is @ 73xxx.

i baught the celica approx 10 months ago (67k mi) and have put 18,000 miles on it.

gas mileage is comparable, nothing to brag about, although better than the CL.

i paid 6 or 7 hundred for the car when i got it. i cannot complain, it did exactly what

i wanted it to do, it kept wear / tear / miles off my acura.

when u see pix of the CL in 8 or 9 months from now, ull see what i did.

i have a good amount of money saved up.

system redo / interior / paint is going to be done while im away at school.

the acura speaks for itself, the toyota, i have to speak for , LOL!

interesting choice with the celica though, my ideal beater would be like a 4g Accord SDN or a EH/EG civic. is it at least a 5speed???

i saw it on the side of the road.

i was looking for a beater at the time.

not a bad looking car.

i invested paint, exhaust and stereo + a spoiler in this bad boy, all for about 4-500.

i guarantee i could sell the car for more than i baught it for, but then again,

who'd buy a yellow/red car?
