this is a bit off-topic but only applies to first-gen. You know when you open the compartment in the console, there's a little elastic band in there? What the hell is it for?? I can't think of one damn use for that thing

 

I put my tin of Altoids there, couldn't think of anything else.

 

I put my checkbook or wallet there.

I sometimes stach large amounts of crack or weed there too when I get pulled over:P

 

Insurance card and registration and pens fit it well.

I don't have an elastic band in my console compartment

BTW: I keep my cell phone in there.

i made myself a custom compartment for that :P

 

does the 97 2.2CL (non-premium) have this? since i have the big old genie remote, it fits perfectly.

 

when I bought my car, the dealer told me it was for cell phones. Garage door opener makes no sense, since most CL's had homelink.

 

I keep one of those detailing brushes tucked under that strap.

When I'm sitting in line somewhere (ATM - McD's - etc), I give the clock, radio & vents a quick brush.

Cuts-down on clean-up time when I finally get around to using a vaccuum on the carpet. Plus, there's always so much dust settling around that stuff.

 

A simple, but not too practical solution is to always use the climate control and never open your windows! hehe

 

Can't leave that sunroof closed! Hell, I only 3 months of weather without snow.....gotta live it up while the plows are gone.
