coilovers from ebay??

so ive searched and searched for the difference between coilovers and springs. i found out that you can adjust the coils, the ride quality is so-so depending on the level of the drop, and that you pretty much buy the coilovers and put them on, no need for additional stuff, i think i want coilovers cuz i like the idea of adjusting them. so here i found these and someone please tell me what wrong with them or if they are ok

Please don't get those, they are cheap and the ride quality will be horrible. You need a REAL set of coils with real shocks. Look for omni's, teins, tokico or any other good brand, $50 ebay coils will not cut it. You get what you pay for, and I'm pretty sure those aren't adjustable either

i think coilovers, against what most people say, cost more than springs. i just want to drop it to where it looks good and not spend 400 dollars cuz im not too crazy about dropping it in the first place, ive got bigger plans. but here are some springs, any opinions?and im 3.0

If you want to drop for cheap than springs will work, keep in mind, once you drop on springs you will blow out your stock shocks a lot faster, that's why it's better to do both at once, or do coils which are made to go together.

You can buy crappy springs and have a crappy ride that you won't even enjoy, but thats up to you.
Then again you have lambo doors so function obviously isn't much of a concern for you I don't think.

Fuckin

I have been driving on blown shocks for like 3 months and they progressivly get worse and worse. I have just not had the money to do it. The steering is whack cuz of it. Im to the point where i dont even like driving the car. Do yourself a favor and spend the money and get some decent springs and struts and just install them together.

Dont waste your time just doing one at a time. Thats what i did, and i regret it.

i dont know, a grand spent just to lower your car is a bit too much in my eyes. with the shitty rough pot holed roads wehre i live im bound to fuck something up even if i did have an expensive set up. rather spend it on a sound system or a dvd player or throw it in the engine

well, unless you live in a warm climate, yeah, your probably gonna screw something up, if you arent very careful. but plenty of other people live in shitty climates and have coilovers, and they are fine...1k may sound very expensive, but your suspension is so damned important, why mess around? Oh yeah, i was around Cincy area over xmas, and your roads do suck.

how about you get airbags with pistons and call it a day like that you have adjustabilty in a heart beat and you have the drop. I dont know about top off the line ride quality but it be just fine.

listen, IMHO, i would NOT screw around with cheap products for your suspension. I would save up the money and get a quality, trusted product thats been proven to work. With those coilovers from ebay, you are not getting the known quality of a reputable company. if you dont want adjustability, just go with shock/spring combo, but heed the advice of others, do both at the same time. When you are talking the components that holds your car to the road and affects manuverability, do it right the first time, and dont skimp out.

ok let me get this right, lets say 200 dollars for the springs then id have to get a left-front shock, a right-frong shock, and two rear shocks from this page below?

http://www.andysautosport.com/produc...ks?_v=vmd00001

thats fucking like 600 dollars , but im confused as to how the suspension shit works

i spent less than half of that on my springs and shocks. If you would take the quick section to search, you'd yield hundreds of threads where we've talked about springs, shocks, brands, kybs, eibachs, prokits, coils, sleeve coils, full coils, teins, d2's, omnis, camber kits, ride height, DIY's, comparision pics, ground clearance, cows, monkeys and dogs

its really not that hard to search.

Okay snide remarks aside all I'm trying to say is that your suspension is one place you don't want to cut corners. Its worth it to spend the money and do it right. You can put all the money you want in a motor or whatever but if you go with thw $50 eBay coilovers your handling and ride quality will suffer as a result. I've been in cars with cheapo coilovers and stock shocks (that were all blown as a result) and they aren't even enjoyable to be in. I know its your money and you can spend it as you wish but I just wouldn't cut corners on suspension because its what makes or breaks the entire look and feel of the car.

ok people, i appreciate your input but i fully 100 % totally understand that buying those p.o.s coilovers from ebay is a dum idea for such a luxurious car. i really didnt know nothing about them or what the price should be and i couldnt really tell you the difference between coils and springs untill i read. so now having said that, someone please answer my question about the struts and shocks i posted last on the first page so that i can buy these dam things already

Yes you would have to purchase shocks for all four corners (LF, RF, and 2 rears). Unfortunately in most situations the shocks do end up being more money than the springs, but you won't regret it if you upgrade to a good adjustable shock like the AGX.

Ya i have tockicos blue gas shocks and i eneded up paying 340$ just on shocks and nother 200$ on my coilovers. But man tockicos ride are really good if my damn tires weren't 215/35/18z it would have a stock ride feel for sure.
