clock and shifer light dim when headlights on...

clock and shifer light dim when headlights on...

ok, i just installed a new 180 amp alt...i also installed ur pulleys...this problem occured before and after...does anyone else have this happen? nothing else seems to dim other that the clock and shifter lights...and not a lot but a noticable difference...

probally cause your drawing power away from them for something else..i believe cocoa has the same problem..but with a 180 amps..i dunno why..but could be the pulleys most likely..talk to cocoa..hes got the most experience about this situation

thier supposed to dim. if u have the a/c on the lights will dim also.

thats what i was thinking too. it might be the alternator pulley.

Like wilp said when you have your lights on your clock will always dim on the car, not sure why your shifter light is going dim though.

all my dash lights dim when I put the lights on, including the shift indicator light

lol ur hillarious... it is the dimmer switch... it is on the dash it is a little push button... when you push it in, it pops out and you can turn it to make your dash lighting brighter or dimmer.

did you use larger cable, larger grounds?

did you install the full set of pullies?

you should know that the 180A alt doesnt make 180 amps all the time, only above like 2000 rpms or so. it has higher than stock output, but still not a huge ammount.

well that is supposed to happen.. when you turn your headlights on your dash lights dim... even when you put them on bright they look dimmer than when lights off... not sure what you are complaining about.

its not really a complaint...and after hearing this im cool wit it...i just wanted to make sure my electrical wasnt fucke or anything....thanks all!
