Clear 3M bra on ebay $85.00
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WD1V
This is the first 3M clear bra that I've seen for sale for the 1st gen CL's. Just thought it might be of use to some.
I plan to do some roadtripping this summer, so I'm getting one.
-=-=-=-=-=-EDIT-=-=-=-=-=-
I am not the seller and I am not affiliated with the seller or 3M in any way.

So what is it, an adhesive tape? could it be removed and put back on? I'm going to Florida in a month and will have a brand new bumper with a fresh coat of paint....I should probably get one....

it's pretty much a heavy duty clear sticker. You should get it professionally put on because I don't think u can take it off... why would u want to anyway? It looks slick... but i heard that if its not that good quality... it'll turn yellow after a while but i'm not sure... i guess it depends on the color of ur car too? But i'd def wanna get that if i repainted my car.... no more rock chips on my hood or bumper... or mirrors.... awesome.

Well the only reason I said I might want to take it off is because I was considering painting my car a different color once I pay it off. If I was going to paint the whole car, I dunno if white would be my color of choice.....but if I did decide to stick with white, it would make sense to cover it BEFORE I take my next long trip.

My friend has that on his M3. It helps to protect the paint from chips, but the adhesive can still chip off and look bad after a while. Just something to consider...

It's a heck of a lot better than a black bra. It's hard to "look wack" when it is invisible. It is invisible unless you specifically are looking for it. It wouldn't show up in ANY of those pic in the photo's section, so people might have them now and you wouldn't even know.
Waste of money? Saves money on touch up paint and repaints if you already have a flawless paintjob.

Meh, from the sounds of it, it's just another gimmick that'll show signs of age and be more of a hassle to get rid of or fix 10 years down the road, so I think I'll just take my chances. Chips/dings in the bumper show how hard a car is driven anyways

If you are asking if the 3M material will discolor - the material is non-UV reactive so it will not yellow at a different rate than your paint job. Do a google - the 3M stuff has been pretty well vetted.

I've had it for over a year now. I got the clear bra which goes on the hood only (not bumper) and there's a similar product for each of the mirrors. It works as advertised but the problem is now I want to repaint the hood due to an accident I had, which would require removing the thing. I don't know where the $500 came from.. I paid under $200 I think, installed. I remember the detailing place said that 3M has to apply it so they took my car elsewhere to get it done.
