You would want to cover up your intake filter, distributor cap. Just take a plastic bag and do that. As far as the fues box goes, you should be ok if you don’t spray it directly with the water. I have a steam cleaner, and pressure washer at home, and I do it ever so often to keep it chean when I pop my hood. Things to use if "Gunk" from any auto parts store, and simple green. You can use what ever you want, but make sure its save on paint and rubber. Happy cleaning!

Basically all the electric parts.

Get a rag; bottle of simple green or engine degreaser; and a spray bottle filled with water. They work best when DIY.

You can pressure wash it or hose it down. But make sure that you cover all the electrical components and lines.

i do it on a bright and sunny day that i know i won't have to drive. start early, when the engine is cold. carefully wet the engine, and go to town w/ simple green. just spray spray spray.... let it sit for a while and raise off. then i leave the hood open for the rest of the day to let it dry. spray armorall on all the vinyl piece and start up the car w/ the hood closed. baked it for about 5 mins. nice and shiney afterward

everything under the hood is designed to be semi-waterproof..............as long as you just quickly rinse it down under the hood, you really shouldnt have a problem with any water related damage.

(that doesnt always apply to aftermarket parts tho...........)
