CL Wear Reports

Im most interested in those of you with higher mileage CL's, but it'd also be nice to hear from everyone. How is your CL holding up? Interior... the seats, arm rest, steering wheel, any items that may show wear... hows it all holding up and what problems, if any are there?? Also, the outside... I doubt anyone is seeing any rust... but how about other things, how does everything on the car work?? and also has any one had any major repairs??

My car has had (under warranty from Acura) a new steering wheel (leather was wearing) a new speedometer (somehow it was 10mph fast) my transmission was replaced (lost 3rd and 4th gear) EGR valve was replaced.... but thats it, all in all my car has been great to me. Except the fact that it seems to attract other cars into it (literally) i've been hit in the left quarter panel (have no idea who, it was in a parking lot) and some friggen kids hit my tail light with an axe (dont ask, I still dont know the whole story) and my driver door has been dented for quite some time now, but i'm waiting till spring to fix the dents.

Sorry for the long post.

3 window regulators (power window motor)
2 sets of window tracking/seal
some wear on the driver's seat (normal)
some flaking on the steering wheel/air bag cover
some scratches/gouges on interior plastic pieces
many door dings
and about a million paint chips and surface scratches

Leather looks like crap

headlights are really pitted

One window regulator

Sumkid I'm glad you posted this thread I'm curious to know how our CLs hold up.
As for my troubles:
1. Catalytic convertor got fried
2. Lots of tiny paint chips on hood
3. Clear coat is peeling off right under rear windows
4. My trunk never stays up and likes to hit me in the head.
Ever since I put a factory spoiler on my car the trunk
doesn't stay up.
Thats it for me. All I got to say is alot less problems than my last car, a Chrysler.

The trunk thing can be fixed. I had the same prob. Just use a screw driver to move the tension bars into the next position. As shown:

It makes SUCH a difference guys-- interior is wearing, but NO WEAR NEAR Ive seen some cars.. i had a brake pad thing at like 20,000 miles that was replaced with Acura-- but everything else is normal maintenance... I have had not ONE THING WRONG.

97 3.0 50K

Window regulator passenger
Alternator While Acura was working on it they lost my brand new battery. So I got another new one.
Leather on drive side is cracking.
Transmission was rough; I took the car to Jiffy Lube and had them change the trans fluid. Now it's all good.

Need new shocks I guess.

(((Trunk will not close without me pushing on the middle of it.))))

I bought the extended warranty. It cost $10 a month and saved me one point on my interest rate. So I hope more shit goes out. My Acura dealer has RSXs for loaners. I would love to trash one for a few day...hehehe

My 3.0 CL is 100% stock. It has 65,000 miles currently and looks and runs great. Interior is in excellent condition, except for a few dark spots on driver side floor mat. My fault. Any suggestions on how to get stains off floor mats? The only things i have replaced were brake pads once and one battery. Knock on Wood. O and i bought new tires about a year ago. Everything else has just been routine maintenance including engine and tranny fluids. Thinking of switching to synthetic next oil change.
