Because the newer Acuras have a different type of gear selector. I believe it's called "gated." those don't need you to push any button and it's on a tiny stick.

It won't fit. The 2.2CL and the 3.2CL's have a totally different shifter. Your model has the button on the shifter (shift-lock) whereas the newer ones don't. Plus, the Type S shift knob sits on a tiny stalk in the 3.2CL's and screws on.

It just won't work, sorry!

No, it won't. The manual transmission shifter (on your car) has a much larger diameter than the Type S knob. It would be like trying to screw in a 20mm bolt into a 10mm hole. It just won't work. Why not just buy an aftermarket shift knob?

Why do you have to call me a noob, I thought we were cool?

I did not say anything about "gate shifting," so I don't know why you would bring it up. I was refering to the gear selector as being "gated" and not straight.

Look at this picture...See anything different than our gear selector?

Objections to the 2005 Acura TL:

Slightly tight rear seat legroom
Fussy gated sequential automatic shifter

So before you start calling people noobs, you better fukin' know your shit.
