Cl-s Here I Come!

well, i just got back from the local dealer and I'm getting a type S. I got a new job (stereo installer, best buy) and i work at a restraunt in the evenings, so now i can afford a new car, insurance, and still swap a h22 in my 967 2.2. Ive decided on a 2003 Aegean Blue CL-s 6 speed with Navi. I'm doing a 60 month lease. I' putting 5000 down, witha 271.XX payment per month. Total price on the car was 31,639.00. Anyone have any advice? I don't know much about leases, but i got locked in on these figures. I believe the residual value was 50%. Any advice would be aprreciated!

Brian

looking into..
comptech headers, exhaust, maybe SC!

Carefull!!

Just remember that most every lease that I have ever seen is almost the same as renting the car. You agree that you will return the car in the exact shape it was when the lease is up - or pay some serious penalties!! Just a warning to make sure you check your lease agreement before you change anything on the car from OEM to aftermarket!! Good Luck and Congrats on the nice choice!

i would never lease a car. Consider buying it. It will be almost the same price but in the end u get TO KEEP THE CAR. In addition leasing the car u cant drive more than 15000 miles a year and other little agreements. Not a very good idea if u plan on fixing it up. Its like fixing up ur momma's car and have to take evrything out when u give it back.

leasing a car sucks.... its almost like paying for it... what you can do it after leasing it you can buy the car for a little cheaper.

5 years is along time to lease. Your warranty will be up in 4 years right? Plus like Dj said, you are expected to return the car in prestine condition and hopefully under mileage 5 years later. It's just like renting a car, it's not yours, you have nothing to put down on a trade when you go back, and chances are you will be over mileage have a about a thousand dollars worth of scratches on your door, a couple hundred dollars in door dings and scraped rims. It's true they really go over the car and penilize you outrageously. And pretty soon you will have no money to put down on your new car when you turn it in in 5years. So then you are stuck leasing again. Just my opinion. But finance the damn car.

Yeah, unless you have your own business and can write off a lease as a business expense, its not worth doing it personally. Yeah, you can afford a car more expensive than one you'd have to buy, but in the long run you end up paying alot of money and being left with nothing to show for it at the end of lease term...like all the other guys said - like renting a car

My 2 cents - if you have $5 to $15,000 to put down, check out AutoTrader.com for a great deal on a slightly used CL-S 2002, unless of course you just have to have a 2003. The power of the internet allows you to locate a car within 100 miles of where you live and I bet that you can find a car you would be happy with and save $5,000 to boot. You can also get financing on-line and I'd bet the interest rate would save you money as well. MHM

Be careful of the mileage charges. $0.15 per mile doesn't sound like much now, but if you drive it alot, you'll get killed on the back end.
