CL automatics

does it really have a problem or is it just a rumour?

What problem are you talking about? If you mean the tranny, then both the auto/manual have problems...

3.0 autos are more prone than 2.2 or 2.3s, however we do not drive the car like the average person and most are pushing at least an extra 25hp over stock. outside this board and ppl who mod the cl there really isnt an unsual problem

Mine hasn't had any problems. I'm at 77k and still going strong.

Sometimes when couple of people starting to have problems, everybody hitting the panic button. People like dustbuster, (knock on wood for him) His is holding up with all that extra hp in his 3.0. I am guessing if u have more hp = more heat leads to problems. I am putting on a tranny cooler next summer.

our 1st gens are getting older

some have problems, some don't.....just like any other car on the road

I would be willing to write it off to the modifications, but all I have is a K&N drop in filter (+4hp if I'm lucky) and I don't drive it like a 16 year old. Honda doesn't make a good transmission.

well i just hear stories how when going on highways the auto tranny would suddenly drop in gear...and you know what happens when you have that happen at highspeeds

mine seems like its acting up , but it really isnt that bad . i plann to go get a check up here soon .......
