I've raced a few of my friend's manual A4s...Smoked them by a good amount. They were stock though.

 

the 1.8T's aren't very fast stock but they get fast quick A chip and boost controller with bolt ons can break into the 13's.

I think he'll beat you I raced my friends 1.8T golf when he was stock and I had e/i/h on my F23. I took him till 60 but he passed me up and by 90 he had a few cars on me (we were both manual)
So auto vs. auto will probably be similar results. But if you're both stock you probably won't even get a jump on him. He'll just pull away after 20mph

 

i raced my 3.0 and my dad's 330i and GOT owned BADLY lol

i gotta say you'd probably lose... A4 1.8T's are slow stock, but easily upgraded.... in stock form that motor's just too small for the heavy body.

btw 150hp A4..? is that a 97?

 

Are you stock? I could have sworn the stats on both cars were pretty similar.....

 

I think that 323s are similar, but the 330s will rape?

 

330s are closer to the CL-S stats.

i have raced my G/F's auto 2000 1.8T quattro and beat her by a decent amount (2.2 manual CL) granted she doesnt really know how to drive hard so that could be part of it. Our cars seem pretty even though judging from my butt dyno because hers has such a friggin lag. I cant pull out on anyone in her car, i get scared when the car goes no where but then all the sudden the turbo kicks in

A 1.8 A4 w/ 150 hp could be as new as a 2k1

 

My buddy's got an A4 but his puts out 220 and its a trip 5 speed auto... same 3.0 engine and all but quattro dose make a difference... that thing takes off
