check engine light

So today i finished installing my new CAI and when i took it out for a test drive my check engine light came on. I checked all the connections for the intake and everything looks good. I was wondering if this was common or if i should take it to Autozone. What do u guys think?

reset your ecu, yank the battery connections and leave your battery unhooked for 5 mins that should reset your ecu

The thing is, my transmission seems fine. It shifts fine, no hesitation (no more than an 11 year car should) It also has no problems idling. It'll idle at 1250 upon starting, then right at 500 for the rest of the time. The P0740 also said it could be a poor electrical connection.
