my check engine light came on yesterday so i took it to autzone. They checked it and came up with P0420. They also gave me a recipt that says. (The Pcm has determined that the catalyst system efficiency for bank 1 is below threshold for the current engine operating condition.) I really just want to know if its ok for me to drive like this untill i get it fixed.

Yes- its ok to drive like this. Most likely you have an O2 sensor that is bad. Possibly something else in your exhuast system, like the catalytic converter, but most likely an o2 sensor-

 

I have an O2 sensor i was planning to put in with my headers, if you want i can resale it to you.

Forgot, does the sensor for a 3.0 work with one for 2.x? anyone?

 

I was running that code when i got my car before i put in a $25 O2 simulator. It works great considering i dont have a cat on my car. I have no CEL since the install and it took me only about 1/2 hour to solder it in.

I would recommend that if you decide to go this way instead of a $70 O2 sensor, that you go to their site and order it there. They have one specially made for Honda's and Acura's

 

i just had my headers put in and i think the guy broke ny converter cause when i got it back it was rattling. i took it back to him and he told me it was bad but he could take all the stuff out and there would be no rattle so i said go ahead.
