My check engine light is stayng on, I tok it to acura & they said it was low brake fluid (?) It went off, but, now t is staying on..... anyone know how to reset it?????

 

I would double check the code to make sdure that there's nothing else going on. I know that niedejb is knowledgeable about the codes; try sending him a PM, or go to his Web Page.

I believe you can reset the "check engine" light by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery for 15 minutes (or longer).

 

Brake fluid will not cause the check engine light. It WILL cause the brake light to stay illuminated.

Go to my site and use the jumper method and post your codes well help you with em.

BTW, dont EVER go back to that dealer EVER again. Find another dealer and try them (Honda can do it too).

 

My 98 CL had this problem 5 times! Each time the dealer said it was no big deal and turned it off. they kept promising it wouldn't go on again (unless necessary), but each time it went on a week after the repair! finally the 5th time they promised they had it right and so far I think they did because it's been 3 months!

 

I think those bastards were just telling me that cause it was still under warranty (48,000) Now it is out of warranty.... what a bunch of dicks... thanks for your help... I will post the codes as soon as I get them.... By the way... anyone know how to go back & add a signature , so it will be there when I post?

 

Cick the "user cp" button, towards the top of the screen.

Click on "Edit Profile".

Scroll down to the "Signature" box, and type in what you want.

Then, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click "Submit Modifications".
