Check Engine Light

I know this has been brought up a zillion times but mine just went off last night when I started the car. I drove it today and it still drives excellent. If it is an emissions problem, will it be under warranty? I had the EGR valve replaced in April under warranty. Any suggestions from people who have had this problem would be helpful. Please holla back.

If the light comes on...it usually has something to do with your emissions...unplug the battery and then re-plug it and see if the light goes off. If it is still on...you could have a bad sensor...what are they called again....hmmm....the one that plugs into your Exhaust manifold and near the cat.

an oxygen sensor. I'm bringing mine to the dealership tomorrow. They said they need it for two days. They are gonna replace both O2 sensors, the EGR vavle and they are taking the intake manifold off and cleaning it out. I guess there is carbon or something to that effect in there.

My light went off a while ago. If you have a shop manual you can hook up a clip to your ecu (on the passenger side under the glove compartment). Then you simply turn your engine on and the check engine light will flash a certain number of long and short flashes. Depending on the flashes it will give you a certain code. You look up the code in the manual and you can find out what was wrong.
It turns out it was my catalytic convertor that was fouled. I ended up buying a racing cat to solve the problem. Good luck.
