Did the light go off while driving, or was it on at the time you started it (then stayed on)?

The light went off while I was driving. I really hope its not the tranny. How much did it cost you to fix the tranny?

The reason I asked was that my check engine light came on last week, and I went to the dealer. The code suggested that I "threw" the car into park while going forward???? I determined by the significant "cuts" in my rear bumper, that someone had tried to parrallel park behind me and hit my car (forcing it forward). The repair tech said that our trannys are very sensitive to this issue. He reset the ECU, and there's been no problem since.

i hope it not your tranny because it's about 2300 dollars for a remade trans and 4100 dollars for a brand new one.

A new bulletin came out for V6 Honda/Acura's. The engine light has a tendancy to come on because the PCV or EGR valve gets clogged. You should feel a slight decrease in power. The deaer will just clean out the valves for you for free. That is usually the problem... if you your car sounds or feels abnormal in other ways, it might be something else.

EGR Valve

This happened to me in April and my car was really sluggish at stops. The light came on and it was the EGR valve. If your car has under 100K miles on it then its under warranty from Acura and they should paid for your rental. They paid for mine and they did it in about a day.

I want to take my car to a dealer to check it out. This is the first time anything has gone wrong in my car. I'm afraid that the people at the dealer aren't going to be very helpful when they see all the mods I've done to my car. I'm sure they will just blame any malfunction in the car on the mods I've made. I'm pretty sure that I've voided all warranties by running NOS. Has anyone had a bad experience at a dealer due to the mods they've made to the car? THANKS for the help

I'm not running NOS, but I have several "obvious" mods on my 3.0CL and have not had any negative run-ins with my dealer (and my extended warranty). It's definitely worth a check-up with the dealer to find out whats going on with your car. Good luck!
