Check Engine Light,02 Sensor, Mods...........
So my check engine light came on last week. I finally took it to Autozone to see what was up and it turn out to be my 02 sensor. Something about one of them being to hot??? temp too high??? I forgot. So I called Acura today playing dumb, asking them how long the o2 sensor was under warranty for, they tell me 100xxx miles (mine has 91k) so I'm thinking cool lets setup a date to bring it in. After the Service guy tells me to bring it in Sat. He ask so you have mods on your car right. I told him only an intake (cuz they have worked on my car before) and he then tells me that it might not be under warranty since the intake might of fucked something up...........anyone else go through this? He said they would look at it and determine weather or not I'll have to pay for it. Theres no way in hell I'm paying for it. Any adivce?? if worst comes to worst i'll put all my stock parts back and go elsewhere. I just wanna know if anyone else got any shit.

theres no way in hell u have to pay for it. they have to prove that ur mods is what cause the problem which ur intake has nothing to do with it. its the law! sema i just got a new o2 from acura. my shit was done for. fyi i have i/h/e/p and i have zero probs. most dealerships dont wantto work on modded cars becuase of liability issues and unexpected costs. they always say shit like that to scare u away. u can call acura's main # and the will call the dealer for you. 99% of the time if u just mention that u spoke to acura already they change their attitude.

if u have less than 100k on the car then yeah they will fix it under warrenty. u may come across a dealer like nugs3 and then u get to deal with the bs, but bottom line is ur are right and acura will back you up.

I just took my car in for something related to the o2 sensor. I dont remember exactly what it was but I ended up paying about $300+. The guy told me it wasn't covered under warranty. I'm thinking my car isn't covered because it's a salvaged car. So would a salvage title automatically void this type of warranty? Someone let me know.

I ended up calling another dealer, the only thing that sucks is if for some reason it's not the o2 sensor I have to pay $$ for the diognostic (sp) test. They did tell me that with a 97 and 90k 95% of the time it will be the o2 sensor. REPO- The o2 sensor should be cover under the Acuras Emissions warranty up to 100xxxK how many miles do u have on your car.

ENGAGE MY VTEC BABY!!!!!!
the test should be covered as well, if thats the problem, if not and they find another not covered under the warrenty you may have to pay for it
just make sure its the o2 sensor and not something else, cause then youll be stuck with a bill for them to check it out

I'd go back and talk to the service manager.
So I have an appt. for Sat. and the light went off last night on my way home from work. WTF is going on??? Should I still take it in?
