it's pretty easy, the hard part is finding a shop that's willing to make you a test pipe as they aren't legal in all states. But yea, just go to an exhaust shop and have them throw a test pipe in replacement for the cat. I've got a test pipe that's been laying around, I just haven't put it in. It should maybe cost you a max of 50$

yeah all you are paying for is the welding basically. when I got new piping on my car they asked me if I wanted to remove my cat or just hollow it out and I didnt know what the hell they were talking about so I told them to just leave it stock. Im glad I left it now cause I heard it makes your exhaust louder and its already loud enough.

Yeah, I bought one of the test pipes off ebay. Easy to install. A definite top end performance boost. Like dulux said makes exhaust system loud as a mother. I'm runnin a random tech high flow cat now. Same performane increase and still legal without as much noise.

yeah, I have heard that it makes your exhaust loud, but also adds a crappy sound too it, not too sure about this though.

Everybody forgetting that you going to get the rotten eggs smell of sulfur. The cat heats up and burns off the extra emissions that the engine and stuff don't burn off.

I don't recommend you removing because it is not legal and in NYC people are randomly checked at checkpoints with mirrors (not so much lately) and sometimes when u get pulled over (hollowing it out will save you here). So the Mr Policeman or woman, can go hey you got no Cats, ticket. But then when it comes to inspection time you will fail.

I seen online some bypass pipes for the hondas to have the pipe go thru the cat or not. It looks like it redirects the flow of the exhaust to the cat and away from the cat with a flip of a switch.

You can get a high flow cat, which is probably a good improvement also, but they cost like 200 for one. Dunno how well it works.
