Cat/catback/O2 sensor - Any suggestions/concerns?

99 CL 2.3

O2 sensor:
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...003&questions=[com.autozone.diy.valueobject.NavigationItem%40c364 38%2C+com.autozone.diy.valueobject.NavigationItem% 401e898ec]

Converter:
http://cpwstore.carpartswholesale.co...BO0993721.html

Catback:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GRedd...Q5fAccessories

That should be all I need correct? I figured I would get a new o2 sensor as I'm pretty sure the one on there is original.

If anyone has any suggestions especially in the converter department let me have em.

I heard CatCo Conveters are good:

http://www.cat-converter.com/company.html

The exhaust is good

With the o2 sensor though. I would get oem. I had trouble with aftermarket o2 sensors, and the oem was only $50 for less hassle and oem plug in.

Good point on the O2 is it easiest to just order the O2 from acura?

Also, I was looking around on the catco site can you not order direct from them? Do you know any good suppliers?

Instead of starting a new thread, i'll just contribute to this one. I was looking for a cat also, and saw some metal core cats vs ceramic core. I came across this insert while searching:

"Metal core catalytic converters are better than standard ceramic. More resistant to the effects of vibration that traditional catalytic converters and capable of holding up to high performance high temperature applications. 300 cells per square inch with a flow rate of 578 CFM which is up to 40% better than other performance cat converters on the market today. Suitable for engines up to 5.0L. "

Does anyone have a metal core cat on their car?

I did some reading about metal cores too. Supposed to last till they literally fall off the car. I ended up buying a Bosal however.

Just went and looked to make sure I told you right... It's 3 bolt flange on the back side. It's a direct replacement so I assume that's the same as stock cats.

The one I just put on was 2bolt on that side, 3bolt going to rear. So if it were a 2.x replacement, it would most likely be a 2bolt as well. This is just a test pipe that I have.

2 bolt I believe.

I couldn't ever find an angled photo.

It should be whatever the stock converter is.

The Magnaflow one throws codes because there's not enough platinum in it to convert the gases, that's why it's high flow. I've had this cat for two years.

As for the O2 and catback, why bother? I think it's a waste of money, especially for the new exhaust, our stock muffler is stainless steel

The kid that had the car before my put on an aftermarket muffler with some cheap piping and it all rotted out. I'm having pieces of the ceramic rattling all the way back to where I can reach in and pull it out of my tail pipe + rusted pipes all through + rusted out chrome trips so I just bought a new cat and a catback system.

I plan on having the car for a while so it needed to be done.

It isn't installed yet. I decided to order some suspension parts and I'm gonna have everything installed at once.

It shouldn't through codes it's supposed to be an OEM replacement. However I can't guarantee anything. If I remember I'll update this thread.
