Carbon Fiber Hood Installed!
Yes I know " but all you little bitches will get to see it tommorow! I spent 8 hours on it today and I am done. You have to use a tap to set the threads when you bolt the hood on. The the latch where the U bolt is needs to be custom modded. Thanks to my genious 17 year old brother who custom modded the whole thing my hood fits perfect. No gaps, no hood pins. I ended up buying sparco pins and may still put them on. The problem with the hood is that the safety latch hits the frame. So after you lower the entire latch you have to lift the safety latch in order to push the hood into place. I know this sounds confusing and I will have pics tommorow. Just been busy and my camera is at work.
Anyways, we ended up extending the latch that you use to pop the hood all the way down to the lower grill. Now I can reach the handle to lift the safety latch. So that was a bitch. Like I said I will have pics! Now its time to party so it up!

hey lucky,
nice to hear you finally got the son of a bitch in i cant wait to see the pics of a cf hood without pins. it should look nice like the rest of your car but if you can take pics of the modding you did to make it work so we can gasp in your glory and do some modding of our own to perfect your creation and modification

Here she is ladies
I just came back from the body shop. They told me that since I installed the hood myself, they wouldnt have to charge me for anything. For the new acura hood, paint, blending the hood paint for the fenders, waste disposal, and paintless dent for the hail damage, the total would be $1,592.41, the price of the check my insurance company gave me. Since I installed and bought the hood myself, the body shop is only charging me $600! So my install job earned me over $900! plus I got the hood free ($460, out of the $900 leaving me with over $400 cash!) So WOW I LUCKED OUT!
Here she is: this is the custom latch, the metal piece extends to the lower grill and you have to first latch it into the saftety latch, then left on the new metal piece, then push the hood down
Latch
This Is where you bolt on the hood, remove EVERYTHING! I am still working on the hydrolic liftsAttached Hood
now for the really good pics:
No Gaps No Pins
So Shiny, So Secure
