Car dies while driving???

Hey guys,
So yesterday I'm pulling into work and my car just dies. Like all the needles drop and it cuts my power steering and power brakes. I was a little low on gas so I thought maybe that could be the reason. So after work I filled up and drove home without any problems. Then later in the day I'm driving to school at about 45 mph and it does it again. I barely pulled off the road without power brakes or steering. I'm afraid to drive the car because if it cuts out on the freeway I'll end up killing myself or someone else. I really need some help guys. What can be the problem?

Check your battery, make sure it has over a 12V charge, if it does, sounds like your alternator, that's what happened when mine died. Jump your car and drive it to your closest auto parts store or dealership, if you're scared to drive it there, have it towed, have them check your charging system, that's the most likely culprit if the car is just turning off

check to see if ur headlights are extremely dim (not as bright as they should be). if its not as bright as before.. then ur alternator could be fuckin up or ur battery isnt holding its charge properly... in which case... ur car should be struggling to turn on if its a power issue

The headlights look fine and the car turns on without any issues. I just let it run in the garage for 10 or 15 minutes and it didn't die. I think I'm still gonna drive it to autozone which isn't too far of a drive and have them check out the charging system.

From the symptoms you've described, You should be looking to fuel system and electrical system. Check for CEL codes. then start running your systems. Check that your TPS, BARO, IMAP, EGR and VSS are all functioning. O2 sensors will not generally cause a stall. But any of the other subsystems can. Also, check that your car's imobilizer system is not malfunctioning and that all of your under-hood fuses are firmly in place.

Does the problem only occure when the car is warm. Under deceloration, while idling? Be as specific as possible and make note of what is happening just before your engine stalls.

Good luck.

If the car is not hard to start, then don't bother with the charging system. Move on to the others.

There is a recall on that. You should definately have that looked into. I didn't even think about that, but yes, that would certainly cause the problem you are having.
