Can someone please help me out

I want to get a half decent motorized In Dash DVD so I can play video games in my car, watch DVD's music videos and possibly install a navi program.

Im really new to this old technology, I can get the below products for $300 in prefect working order. Will they fit no problem, and I guess this means I cant use my aftermarket MP3 deck anymore becuase these will take the place of that right?

Alpine CVA1003
PowerAcoustik --- PA-DVD610

If the DVD unit is a carputer, you will be able to do all that. If it is a DVD only, you would probably mount it under your MP3 deck where the little storage box is. In any case, fitiment will depend on what type of mount it requires. And lastly, you may need to invest some $$s towards a dash kit and a harness that will accomidate your equipment. Good luck.

Most DVD head units play MP3's, any single DIN HU will fit, are you trying to not replace your MP3 player hu? Cuz then you're going to run into output problems, by getting sound from both decks, etc. You could fit a single DIN in the console with your existing player but it'd have to be custom, same with a double din DVD, custom as well.

Thanks your always the most helpful person on this board.

I wanted to keep my current deck but that sounds like it wont work, take to much work and/or cause problems. so Im probably best off going with the alpine dvd screen for dvd playback and the power acousitik for music and use this as the HU.

No problem man, always trying to help, another alternative like AJ mentioned is you can mod your ash tray location to fit a single din, keep that in mind too.

True, but with the set up and models numbers that a mentioned earlier will they fit and play music and dvds? I did a search and looked at some pics and it looks like its not a problem, I seen a set up by klepto in a previous thread where he at a flip out dvd and a deck that looke dliek it fit perfectly with a double din cover would that work for this?

Like I said above, double dins will work, I'm installing one in my car, there's just no premade double din kit for our car, so you'll have to modify or make your own, like klepto did. Not too involved.

I've wanted a carputer for sooooooo long. I just wish that one guy, damn, I can't remember his name... Korean who was in Seattle and went home for a visit only to find his student vesa revoked upon his attempt to return to the US. He could make any custom interior part. He had a screen setup in his CL. What the hell was his name? Oh well, if you are out there, man you made some sweet fabrications.
