Car Alarm PROBLEM
Hello, I just bought a 1999 Acura CL 3.0, and the previous owner had an aftermarket alarm installed. I do not know what brand though.
Anyway, the remote has been broken, and I want to buy a replacement. The ONLY words on the remote INSIDE and OUT, says "Vision". I looked up a vision remote and found ONE used one on ebay.
1. If I buy this, do you know how I can program it?
2. Can I just buy some universal remote and program it instead?
3. Where can I look in my car to find the alarm system so I can find the brand?
Thank you. I am a desperate noob.

Hey, me again.
I looked under the dash b y the steering wheel and found the security box.
It just says "Vision" on it and thats all. Everything is all wired up and works.
Are most alarm boxes universal? can I buy a different alarm box with a pager and plug it in where the old box was and call it good?
Thanks..

If you are looking to spend the money to buy a new one. I would go that route..
I would be worried that the original owner of the car does not try to come back and steal it. I had a car stolen so call me paranoid.
Not only that though. You know nothing of the brand. You don't know how old it is. You don't know when it will shit out on you. There are a lot of unknowns.
If you told me that you were thinking about getting a new alarm and building yourself up to the cost. Do it.
