Can I swap in another f22b without pulling the transmission?

I'd like to not pop all the ball joints and pull axles and shit, I always bust them and have to replace and I just got everything replaced like 2mos ago

got my f22b today from attarco, ordered IM & EM gaskets from acuraautomotiveparts should be here like tomorrow, looking at attacking it this weekend ...

only other maybe is the clutch, i don't think mine's worn. that and a 8lb flywheel sounds like a lot of fun.

I don't know if it could be done. I don't think there's enough space in there to unbolt the tranny then separate it from the long block, then pull it out. Either way you're gonna have to pull out at least one axle, that being in the best case scenario where you can pull out the long block w/o taking out the tranny, so u can get the hoist straps around properly and whatnot to pull it out.

I'd just take the steps to do it right instead of cutting corners, cuz that's gonna cost u more in the end. Take ur time and be meticulous, that way you'll have the satisfaction of doing it right w/o breaking anything. Why not pull it all out anyway if u wanna do the clutch and flywheel? It'll be easier to align it correctly and remount the tranny on the block with it all out the car.

argh ok cool. didnt know how much room is actually in there, i remember the b18b in my integra being pretty tight.

i'm still debating on clutch + flywheel and I think i may skip. Found an exhaust on CL for 50 today may be my choice for spending vs. a clutch i dont think I need yet ...

Our engine bays are quite spacious in my opinion. Without that V6 stuffed in there, we have elbow room to move around.

you can do it with the trans still in the car.

but it's actually easier to just pull it all out together.

And clutch/fw might be good since you're dropping out the tranny and seperating it from the engine anyway

Since flywheels got brought up is it worth it for our cars? I haven't seen any discussions about them.

So when you clutch your RPMs will fall faster because of less momentum on a lighter fly?

I personaly dont think it can be done. I also dont think anyone should lift an engine out with the tranny in place. You will keep hitting the driver side mount and yes you will get real frusterated. You can disconnect the tranny and tie it in place which is kinda retarted because you can always take it out and clean it but thats on you...

so then ur f series would be arounddd 145-155 whp with all the bolt ons u could find and a tune? I hope its a cam for boost cuz idk if I could justify spending bisimoto's prices for a car that would be under 160 whp when I was done.

if you plan on boosting, do that before a cam.
