i have a 2.2CL, this may only apply to the first gen. i replaced the bolts (2 each) in the upper control arm with M10-1.25 50mm so i can fit 3 3/8" washers per bolt. this moved the control arm away from the body. i'll find out from the alignment if 3 washers is enough to correct the almost -2 degrees on the rear.

i did put loctite on the bolts.

i'm not sure with the drop. i'm still trying to figure out what the stock height measurement is from ground to fender lip (bought the car used). on stock tires 205/55-16 is still have about half an inch between the tire and fender lip (24.75" from the ground to lip).

i looked at the rear control arm (Ingalls 3880/3882). too much money for now. the principle looks the same. i'll let you know of the alignment results.

so far i don't. since ours have the polyurethane bushings, did you put some grease in it? i used moly-graph grease (the one for repacking bearings).

how was the install? was it difficult? looks like u have to take the off the bolts from the upper control arm right??? Can ajustment be easily made when the wheel is off? or can u ajust it on the alignment rack from underneath. SOunds like a bitch if u put it on the rack and have to drive thecar off and jack it up ,remove the wheel, ajust it and put everything back and then drive it back on the rack. ya know?

the install wasn't too difficult. just have to remove the fuse box and strut bar out of the way to reach one of the bolts. i didn't even bother using the airtool for it.

i had a free alignment check after i installed the coilovers so i had an idea for the camber. in the front, i set it up close to the +2 marker. so it hasn't been on the rack. my guess is the alignment guy should be able to reach the adjustment nut from underneath (car on the rack) without removing the wheel.

my camber is -1.8 for the driver side and -1.7 for the passenger. If the kit has markings like u said then i can just set it close to the +2 and ill be fine right? I didnt know it has markings. I thought u had to eyeball it and take it to the alignment rack. Do the markings only come on the ingalls? or do other brands have them to?(ie: specialty products)

got my alignment checked. the washers seem to work. here are the readings for the camber ...

REAR:
Minimum = - 1.7
Nominal = - 1.2
Maximum = - 0.7

LT: Before = - 2.0 After = - 0.9
RT: Before = - 1.9 After = - 1.2

FRONT:
Minimum = - 0.88
Nominal = +0.12
Maximum = +1.12

LT: Before = - 1.9 After = - 0.6
RT: Before = - 1.8 After = - 1.0 (needs to be adjusted)

i hope this helps. btw, the toe needs to be adjusted.

MaCe: i put 3 washers per bolt. in another thread (19" Axis NE-O) i posted some pics of my drop (my guess is i'm dropped about 2.5").

ilike2cheez: i looked at the specialty products but i could not remember if it has markings like the ingalls. i bought ingalls because of the price ($55 ea).

alignment caution ... when adjusting the ingalls, watch out for the control arm hitting the fender liner.

i have to settle for slightly negative camber (within specs). btw, do our cars handle better with a little negative camber in the front?

and i feel stupid bc i just bought the rear camber kit too...man... im having too many car problems/issues.

indopinoy: you may have to consider shaving the liner (if it is not too much). unless you can find a camber kit with the control arm (hopefully it is shorter).
