ok so heres the story. i take my car to school. one day, i was finished for the day so i went to my car, got into it then closed the door normal not hard, then out of nowhere my window just falls halfway then like 2 sec later it falls all the way.

so i didnt know what the hell happened. i got home took off the door panel and put a stick in there to keep up the window since i couldnt see what the problem was. my dad took it to his mechanic and he said that it was a wire that had gotten loose. he said it was going to be a lot of work to fix it. since i dont have job, and my parents are tired of spending money on my cl we just left it at that.

today i got home from school and decided to see if i could maybe fix it. i took off the door panel, but there is almost no space to work with in there. if i have the window down i can see the wire that is just there loose. when i push the button for the window the wires move a little.

my question is, does anyone know if there is a sort of diagram or something of how the window works. i want to know where the wires are supposed to go and maybe i can fix it.

 

Holy Crap! That happened to me yesterday. I am in a new city and a new job, so I don't have the time to go to a mechanic to fix it. I called the acura dealership just down the road. I have an appointment on saturday, but it's supposed to rain here within the next few days. I haven't taken the panel off yet, but I'm not sure that'll do me much good.

Oddly though, I have the exact same story.

 

is the window down?

if it is, and its going to rain, take off the panel and put like a board there just so hold it up through the rain and until you get it fixed. if you dont have a board, you can still put it up. it will hold up there because of the curve of the window it will take time to go down again. once you hear wind coming threw just push up the window.

 

Unfortunately, yes, it's down. I have the screws out, but I'm not having much luck. taking it off. I'm a fairly big fella ( read, fat with an ok amount of muscle ) and I can't pull it off. I don't care if I break the door off...I'm getting that window up somehow

 

you have to push the door panel up, then out.

did you already un snap the panel?

 

I removed three screws, two from the actual arm rest and one from the area near the door handle ( the lever to open the door) I couldn't remove the white clip from one of the screws. The arm rest was loose, but when pulled up, it didn't give. pulling out did nothing either. I know I'm doing something wrong. I'm a software engineer, the only thing I do well with my hands is type.

 

both of u need a new window regulator. acura wants bout 150$ just for the part and bout 80 to install it. its apretty easy fix. and u can get them from ebay for 75$ from the 2 door accords. from 94-97.
