Brake problems

I have a 97 2.2 that I just bought 2 weeks ago. The steering wheel shakes and the car rumbles slightly during high speed braking (well, pretty much any speed over 35). Also, I hear a high-pitched squealing sound after driving about 15 minutes or so on the highway. The squealing comes and goes, but stops when I hit the brake. Any ideas?

I've heard of that. And I do hear that little rumble for a second when I first start the car sometimes (usually only in the morning). It's not the same rumble.

I'm pretty sure this is being caused by warped/worn rotors. But I have no idea about the squealing.

Ok, lets clarify something, the abs problem is basically that humming noise you hear when the car starts up. It is supposed to engage the system after a few seconds, but when the abs goes out, it will go on for an unusually long amount of time.

The squealing that you are hearing is either

a) your breaks need to be replaced
b) your breaks ar fine but you may not have used Acura pads so they will squeal when braking.

If the brakes are squealing when you are just driving then the brakes need to be replaced.

Also the shaking of the steering wheel while braking means that your wheels are no balanced correctly or that your rotors need to be replaced. When my stering wheel shook during braking it was the wheels not being balanced.

Good luck with the brakes

Yes, that is exactly what's happening. When I hit the brake, the squealing stops, as if the pads are sticking or something. Like I said, this car is two weeks off the lot. I will get the dealer to replace it all. Thanks.

I have VGX brake pads all the way around...I usually hear the squeal when i first start hitting the brake from like 40mph then dies down/goes away at around 10-15mph during brakeing
