Does it go away? If it is the word brake instead of the brake light bar under the picture of the car, u might be low on brake fluid. Check the level.

The sensor usually means there is something wrong with your brakes. Like if the fluid is low, or brake cable is stuff. Might be a little low on the fluid and when you press the pedal a couple of times it goes above the "warning" level. Or your fluid needs changing. Depends on what you did on ur car.

My car has started doing this since the weather has gotten cooler. The brake lights stays on until the car warms up then it goes out.

I don't know if the cold could be effecting the sensor or causing the calipers to not open completely. I do not feel any brake drag.

Could be affecting the fluid. Cold means not as good flowability (aka viscosity)

I think that is a [seperate brake light] light.

Mine does this too. I have 2nd gen but I would imagine its the same thing. Dealer told me its a faulty sensor in the cap for the brake fluid or something like that. If you are under warranty bring it in they said it takes less than a minute to fix.

That happens whenever I get a little low on brake fluid. Top it off and see if the light goes out.

Yeah last winter that happened to me and the mechanic said that my calipers were freezing up. I replaced them and this year it's doing the same thing. I think the sensors are just acting up when it gets cold.

Yea, mine does too, now that it has gotten colder in the morning. But goes away once it warms up. Weird, it never did this before.

Maybe a cold weather gremlin?

I checked the fluid level and the fuses both are good.
It is almost time for a 75K dealer visit-do they change the brake fluid?

also check your pads, the reason why your completely closed and sealed brake system "loses" fluid is because it compensates for pad wear

There is no loss in fluid. My guess is that the brake fluid is getting opld and has some water (and is freezing) in it that is making the sensor get funky.

It is time to fush and replace the fluid anyway so I'll see what happens after that.
