depending on what sub u're using...the manual that came with the sub would tell you want kinda of surface area you would need for the best sound.

Or if you bought them used, look online and get the specs and depth for the woofer, and either buy a box, or build one.

Do a google search for subwoofer enclosers. There are a couple I found when I built my box that calculates interior air mass.

I know I'm in the wrong forum but I saw box and thought there might be a close up of a members girlfriend and her bearded clam. Seriously though. Go to www.the12volt.com they have a tons of info on that site about anything thats A/V. Theres even a box dimension calculator for you to use. It does sealed, ported, and vented enclosures. That should help you with your demensions. It even has building tips on there somewhere.
