My 97 2.2 CL is all stock, except for the sound system, what upgrades would you guys recommend as far as speeding up tha 2-2?

 

Kick that f22 to the curb and drop in an h22.

literally, you take out your f22, and kick that sonofabitch square, in the nuts..

then, you get an h22, and drop it ontop your foot.

 

I meant whats an f22, and an h22. I know next to nothing about cars when it comes to parts and such.

 

our 4cyl first gen's have an f series motor; 2.2 sohc, vtec.
hence the term "F22".

H22 is a prelude motor; h series, dohc, vtec.

the reason why you would want to swap an H22 motor, is because the f series does not have as much potential as the H22.

people may say it is not worth $$ for 55+ extra hp, although, in the long run, it is well worth the $$ if you want your car to produce serious power.

it depends on what you are planning to do with your car.

 

He is right, but sense you don't know much about cars you might think about learning... then deciding on your *own* on what to do to *your* car... and not what *other* people say, because *you* drive *your* car and *they* don't.
