To beat the American

I've got two friends that have 00' Z-28's and one with a 01' mustang GT. They always beat me and they've got stock! I know they've got sooo much horsepower than i do, but is there anything i could ever do to beat them??? I plan on getting a 75-100 shot soon but i'm not sure if that will be enough. I'm about 1 and 1/2 car lengths away. Is there any hope!!!!????!!!! How much does NOS really help??? Thanks

You should be able to deal with them once you go with N2O.

I've been hesitant to race either. I just assumed that they would beat me with my 75-shot.

Turbo all the way. You'll never get there with NOS.

I'm sure turbo is the way, but as i understand it they do not make a turbo for the 3.0......or if they do no one has done it. So?

Check out this comparison: http://carpoint.msn.com/compare/choo...me1=CL&pt=used

CL = 200 HP; Auto; 3219 lbs.

GT = 260 HP; Manual; 3273 lbs.

BTW: The '00 Z-28 has 305HP http://carpoint.msn.com/compare/choo...me1=CL&pt=used

We wish we could go turbo, but he is 3.0 so he has to settle for n2o

You lucky, I believe you could do an H22 swap including the manual tranny and it will really be a BEAST(once you go turbo that is )

h22a is the code for the Prelude engine.

Put a 200 HP 4 cylinder engine coupled with a 5-speed manual tranny in your CL! Vrooooommmmmm!

Don't sweat it. They're a different class of car. Just be happy that your not in the shop every month trying to fix a broken whatever like they are.

I'm pretty sure you could find a turbo charger or super charger for the accord v6 and slap it on the the 3.0. I know comptech makes a supercharger that adds about 60hp to the wheels, with some lightened supercharger pulleys and some electronics you could probably get around 80-100 hp at the wheels

I know that most of you may either not believe this or get pisswed by this. But I pulled on a 3.0 from a car length back, and yes this is with a bad clutch. Although it did take me some time to catch up. He roasted me off the line and by about 85 I had caught him. But he did have someone else in the car also, maybe it was just luck. But the point of this is, that you can make your car quick, it just depends on how quick you want it.

Well, I'm serious about this car being a true sport. I like the body style--even better than the 2nd gen. But, i need ways to get power. I've not heard anything about the level ten torque-converter or what nos system work best. So a turbo or supercharger is really out of the question??? What about tranny mods??? Thanks for the help i just really want to show my friends off and with my new job, i can afford to put bucks into this soon to be beast!!!!

daaammmmmmmn.

Those hp number are about what a 6spd CL with headers would put out, except your car weighs 400 lbs less!!!!! Fastest CL ???? You need to find a track and put all the 2gens to shame.

ya think?

Just because there is a turbo there does not make those numbers any less impressive, still more than any CL has dynoed on this forum (new or old).
