hey everyone, i have a woodgrain kit in my car (97), and was wondering if the chrome ring around the auto shifter in the 99 CL's would fit around my 97 flush? Thanks.

 

It should, I've always wanted to do that, however the 98-99 auto shifter is a little different from the 97(believe me i know) so it might not work. Only one way to find out

 

you need to switch to the 98-99 shifter plate as well.

Yeah there is, you have to do the whole console. Thats the only way to do it.

im pretty sure it wont, the 97 shifter surface (black part with PRND etc. on it) sits like 1/4 inch below the surface of the console, where as the 98-99 shifter surface is flush with the colsole, maybe a tad higher

 

The shift plates are different too, I tried putting a 98 on my 97 and it was a no go.
