Okay guys,
I'm gonna get one of these items this week. Any feedback on which on is better? Is anyone running both of them at them same time? I've done a bunch of searches but there no real data comparing the two??? thanks

Venom 400 for two reasons:

1. The 3.0 is an auto and the venom will do much more for an auto than a five speed. The way it tricks the air and fuel ratios also helps the shift points in an auto.

2. The Apexi is a good unit but has to be dyno tuned. Also, this mod probably should be done after more bolt ons or if youre planning on NOS or something like that.

Not at all. Just not a 5 speed with only a CAI.

I've thought about a venom but think the Apexi is more versatile for a what I want (turbo). The venom is not adjustable.

However, if you're modded out and you cant get to a dyno to tune the apexi, go for the venom.

Another plus to the venom is you can turn it off and be back to stock. Not sure if the apexi works that way or not.

Niedejb you can get the drag gen 3 for $2,795.00. Its the newer and superior version of the drag gen 2. Email the seller of this auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...ndexURL=0&rd=1
This guy sells these kits all the time. He's an authorized dealer of drag gen so I'm sure you won't be getting ripped off. Good luck

You don't need a dyno to tune the AFC. Just get an EGT gauge (under $200) and adjust the settings at full throttle so that you get about 1450 deg F. You can also monitor the O2 sensor voltage for stoichiometry. I've done this with a couple of my cars and it works great. Just make sure you have a navigator to watch the gauges while you watch the road!

The AFC also does a lot of other neat stuff. Plus it's more versatile and can be adapted to your particular car's characteristics and mods as you go, as opposed to a preset box.

Might as well give myself a little plug

http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...highlight=vafc

It's a little old, the thread that is, but the brand new vafc is still for sale.

Even though I am selling it so I should try to make you want it, don't buy it unless you are planning to do the i/e/h mods like people were mentioning above.

The Vafc does, however, have cool blue lights and does a lot more then the venom. Reason for me never installing it is because I don't have the money to do the mods.

Let me know..

That's interesting. Proportionately speaking, there was a greater increase in power (and larger difference in ET) in my 3.0CL from stock condition (Venom off) to stock condition (Venom on) compared with the addition of an intake (Venom off) and intake (Venom on).

My guess is that as mods are added, the benefit of the Venom decreases.

I realize that this is different from what some others have reported, but this has been the case with my car. Is it possible that as mods are done to the car, they replace the functional benefits of the Venom 400? Could i/h/e lessen the need for the Venom? I just don't know
