Im considering tint for my car. Any precautions i should take? I've heard that the dot dot dot thing around the edge of the window will give bubbles on the tint. However, I've also heard you can counter this by putting black vinyl over it. What are the legal limits and stuff?
i Wanna get it so people can't see my headunit that i just bought. thanx for the input guys. oh and also cuz the sun in CA is just crazy and the 1st gen CLs have a lotta glass =T

 

It's funny how you said you want to tint your windows so people can't see your NEW Headunit. But yet, you told everybody in a way by putting it up on this forum. (just a thought) But anywayz. i just got my windows tinted yesterday. I did a 37% all around. It looks really nice. i noticed the back isn't that great but the guy at the shop said it takes around 2-4 weeks to completely dry up. So i just have to wait. But in CA u can't tint the front two windows, it's illegal. just have to take your chances.

NO TINT in the front at ALL in Cali. But everybody still has them, so it depends on the cop if he wants to pull u over or not. Some are A$$ and just wants to pull u over cause your a TEEN and when u ask them whats the problem. they look around your car, and say "u can't tint the front" and give u a ticket.

sorry, i don't have any pics. Don't have a digital cam. but i have a 37% tint, and it's really nice, cause i don't like the dark tint, which u can't see in a all. But i have to wait till 2-4 weeks till it completely drys cause right now, the back looks like it's kinda werid. But the guy at the shop told me to wait 2 weeks let it dry

 

i got 5% black (limo) or 95% if u think the other way. n e ways on sunny days u can still se inside the car. it all depends on the angle ur looking in from and the direction of the sun. if u go to a professional place u shoudl not get any white crap around the edges. make sure u talk to tthem before hand. anyways im about to get another layer of 5% over the 5% already on there. thats how my truck is and its nice and dark. plus if u get soemthin like 35 ur still gettin pulled over. dont think cuz u got 5 ur gonna get pulled over more. if a cop is lookin at ur car hell see the 35 right away. the only tint that is hard to notice off hand is the titanium to clear tint on a light colored car. heres a pic of my tint

 

haha man, from the link you left, there are going to be alot of CL-S there, haha, dunno if i should show up, my car is pretty much stock except for lights and clear bumpers, interior lights etc.

 

i went last time... and it was cool... chatted with these guys and just look at what they've done to their cars... it was kinda cool... i didn't have mods either... clear bumper lights and that was it...
it was all good tho.. ^^

Here's a pic of 35% black performance tint on the front of my car and 20% on the back. The front is too light for me so i think im going to get the front changed to 20% soon. Just thought i would give you an idea
