Anyone ever have an engine code 22 (vtec malfunction)?

Check engine light came on yeasterday, so I did the paper clip thing to check the code and it came out as 22. I looked it up in the manual and it said that it was a "vtec system malfunction". Anyone ever have this?

I had that when I was hooking up my VAFC but I reset the ecu and it took care of the problem

Car seems to run fine though. Haven't really run it hard since the light came on. Scared to test the vtec.

Upon further research I found that this code applies to either the VTEC pressure switch of solenoid. The dealer said that I am probably really low on oil. So I checked the oil and I was low. But after adding 2 quarts the light has not gone off.

it wont the ecu has to be cleared with an obdII scanner. even disconnecting ur battery for a day will do nothing. i think it depends on the code. i dont think certain ones can be cleared without a scanner. i had my light on once for something and no matter what it would not go away until i hooked a scanner up and cleared it

Try pulling the 7.5 amp fuse under the hood now that you added the oil. (get your radio code if first if you have a stock head unit).

This will reset your ecu.

Thanks, I'll try that during lunch. Sucks to have to reprogram the headunit all over again.
