Technically/geographically you're correct. There are many countries including India that are on the continent of asia. But usually the common definition of "asian" as used by most people is physiologically/racially based, i.e. mongoloids, or what westerners once refer to as orientals. "Oriental" is no longer used, so asian has become the term of choice.

just an observation from Cali

I'm white as hell (grew up in Redneck, USA), but my wife is from the Philippines (that makes my daughter 1/2 Asian)!

Rose, my wife, is from Pangasinan Province. I was there in 1999 for 3 weeks!

Rice is served here, 3 meals a day, 365 days per year.

English is not the main language spoken in my home. Tagalog is freely spoken here!

Kumusta na kayo!

I've eaten pansit, adobo, apritada, sinigang na baboy/baka, putchero, latik, buko, and kasoy (my FAVORITE fruit)!

There was an article in the latest FHM entitled "What's up with these Asian kids & their Hondas?" I thought that was pretty funny.

I am 100% korean... born in america though. I eat rice and kimchi ^^. Spent some time in China... where I grew my love for DimSum (hint: the name). Along with driving a nice car, I practice Kung Fu... currently mastering the arts of WuShu.
