You will have to take out the whole center glove area. Pull out the cup holder, there should be two screws there, then open the center glove pull out the cd holder and there should be two screws there. THen pull that whole thing off. After you would see two screws holding the fake wood trim on. Takes those off, and just pull the whole thing up. The trim should start to come off. But don't pull too hard, cause theres wires holding them, u'll have to unplug them. after, ALL THAT. You'll be able to get the radio out. GOOD LUCK. i had to do that to install my new CLarion HDX10 a couple of days ago.

Well he has the '97 so it is much simplier than that. First you have to get a flat head screwdriver and gently pry off the black (sometime wood) surrounding the radio. Than you will have to unplug the hazard lights and clock stuff, than you should see that under the radio there are two screws that you need to loosen, loosen them up and slide your radio up alittle and than it should pull out. Hope that helps

listen... its so simple to get the code!!!! you used to be able to just call ACURA dealership and ask with verification of adress, but now you must GO TO THE DEALERSHIP with REGISTRASTION and they look it up... al cars built in the same lot(at the same time and delivery) have same codes... so if in 1998, the cars were produced in monthly bulks, say Jan - Mar and July - Sept.. then Jan - Mar will have a code and July - Sept will have another code...
all in all... GO TO THE DEALERSHIP.. they have it in the computer!!!!

Look under ashtray
Try pulling your ashtray out and looking under it. My code was posted there. It was also in the same spot in my Legend. Try that before you take out your console.

thanks a lot for all your help guys
it's not on the ashtray, I looked
you need to go to the dealership with the serial number and the reference number along with your ownership and they will call for you. The numbers you need are bellow the stereo, you need to unscrew the console to get the serial number.
Thanks again for all the assistance.

Check here
Drewdiddy,
Check the inside of yout glove box, on the sides of it not in the actual compartment, that's where Acura customer Service told me to look after he suggested the ashtray for your sticker. I needed to find mine after installing my foglights and disconnceting the power. I found my code and with a lot of help from the boardmembers I got my radio working again.
Good luck to you!

If you want the best theft prevention... use the fac. head and hook up the amps and speakers to it etc. then you are a stereo "sleeper".
Oh yeah... Did you look in the owner's manual for a card with the code on it? That's where mine was... and still is.
Hey... if you don't find it, you can buy my factory stereo with the code for $25!

Just call acura 800 number and find out the actual dealer the car shipped to, They might ask you to fax some proof of ownership. I didn't have to coz the rep. was too nice. She just gave me 5-digit code over the phone.

I had to get the code from the dealer recently. You have to call the dealer that the car was purchased new from, not were you may have purchased it. Luckly, there was a brochure in the glove box for a dealership in new york. I called them, gave them the last 6 digits of mine VIN and they gave me the code.
The dealer here in MD wanted me to bring it in so they could verify it was my car, and even then they still wanted to charge me to take out my radio to look at the back of the radio. What jerks.
