Another suspension/wheel size issue

Hey all,

There are a million threads that answer some or most of the following issues, but I would like them answered together (if possible).

I'm not a fan of lowered cars. Sorry, but it's not my style. But, I am interested in getting my car to handle better (and get rid of the massive space in my wheel wells.

I would be willing to lower the car if necessary, but would prefer to get larger wheels/tires (or some combination of both.

Can anyone suggest what the best combination (or possible combinations) of springs, wheel size, shocks, etc. would give me better cornering and get rid of that awful gap in the wheel wells.

If I'm coming from outer space, you can certainly let me know that too!

Thanks a million.

FYI... larger wheels and no drop, or suspension will do jack doodoo...lol if you do not gain stifness in your suspension from springs/shocks you are going to rub and blow out tires! Get past your dislike of lowering.. get a prokit suspension, some sways and your wheels for an ultimate siuspension with less of a drop...

I can get past the lowering bit (hell, I just installed clear bumper lenses, and compared to most of you, I'm an old fart ), I tend to lean towards the luxury (?) side of the CL. I just want the car to handle better. Don't get me wrong, I like speed, but I'm tired of feeling like the car is going to flip over when I corner hard.

PS: as for speed, I have a 1971 AMC Javelin SST Trans Am racer. 304 cid w/ roughly 450 HP (It's wicked!)

i'd really suggest the prokit. It's the perfect drop. I'd let my mom drive around in my car w/ no worries. It stiffin's the ride up just enough to make it still very comfortable. It lowers the gap just a tad bit. It was perfect. I just wanted to go a little lower.

here's my pro kit drop on 18's

If you want good handling on corner and stuff and don't want to lower your ride, u can just change your stock shocks to something stiffer such as tokcio 5-ways adjustable.
