another question... sorry guys

yeh another newbie question... sorry. Ok so i got my rockford fosgate 6.5... wiring is set and everything.... but i cant figure out how 2 mount these bitches.... The steel bar gets in the way. Also do i have to make sure that the magnet is not touching the steel bar? Sorry again for all these questions.

i dont know if the magnet touching the steel bar is a prob, but from what i ve heard from people on here is that new 6x9's never fit cause they hit the bars...so they just fix that by bending the bar down a lil!

your talking about the 6.5 in the doors though, not your back window right?

yea the thing is that the front 6.5 speakers don't fit into the stock basket even with the back of the basket cut out. That means I have to custom mount it right?

yeah. Most people use either a thick piece of mdf or plexi depending on how deep your speaker can go before hitting, and make a cut out that looks kinda like a giant washer that goes between the speaker and the door so that the speaker doesnt sit so deep in the door. I used plexi cause I had some laying around after I made speaker box for my friend and that worked just fine.

Yeah, use/make a spacer. You can pick them up at most electronics stores.

i don't know but my rockford 6 X 9's fit in the back perfect no custom work what so ever also yeah you can get spacers for the front at any electronics store
