If I were you, I would get a used Soundstream amp on eBay. (The reference series amps). If you buy from someone with 100% positive feedback, you should get a good amp.

They are very clean, very powerful, and well-built. Most amps today are garbage compared to those.

right on that. The old reference series amps from Soundstream are the best ever made. Absolutely clean and they look good too.. my friend just picled up a couple on ebay with no problems.

I think the old RF amps are the best. I just bought a RF 800a2. Those amps are so underated it's rediculous.

Really, any amp from a major manufacturer is going to be a nice unit.

PS: I have an MTX 6500D mono 775w for sale. Cheap $$. (lots of other stuff to, whole system)

Ill vouch for the Soundstream reference series. I have the Class A 6.0 and the 644s 4ch. Also have the active 3-way. The stuff kicks major ass.

if you get it through best buy or circuit city and have them install it you can have everything insured just in case you blow you subs or amp. but this would cost you an arm and a leg

:shakehd: i wouldn't let any of those dweebs touch my car.Id be suprised if they could tie their own shoelaces. And on top of that i would have to actually buy something from worst buy which means there is about a 99% chance its gonna be a cheap peice of shit with 9 billion pointless leds on it and no sound quality whatsoever.......Ill pass. btw they shouldn't have any problem replacing the equipment they sold you because it only cost $0.03 to manufacture anyway.

Legacy LA570

On Ikesound.com there is a Legacy LA570 800watt amp for $67.50. I read some of the reviews on other sites and it sounds like a good amp. I dont have a lot to spend and this looks like about what i need. What do you think??

save another $100 and get a punch 501s off of ebay that would kill any kainda subs you got unless you have those new eclipse subs 1500watts or whatever crazy!

for your money..I think that soundstream is the way to go. I was running two picasso series amps in my last setup and they treated me very well. you could get a nice monoblock and 4 channel offa ebay for close to 450.

heh..true.

but if you're talking about spl's..that's one thing

if you want clean music and volume, there's always a compromise.

if you want really clean sound, and aren't concerned with beating down the block - there's not too many amp series that fill the top.

depends on how you define best - everyone defines it differently

No way man, that sub sucks. It's sloppy, not even that efficent, and only 1000 watts.

If you really want a large cone driver that is loud as f*ck, there is only one:

The Turbosound TSW-124 24" Subbass cabinet:
