Vtec controller

Hi everyone, I am interested in purchasing a Vtec controller for a 97 2.2 cl. Any idea where I could buy a good one? What about the Venom ECU Module that are for sale on Ebay? Thank you for your help.

ummmm no you can't:pfawk: seriously bro ur crazy if you think you can hear vtec on our cars.

so, what rpm does ur vtec kick in at??:P
oh yeah it doesn't. It just gets louder at high rpms and you probably think thats vtec

have you ever driven in an h22,si,gsr,rsx or type r?? then you'll hear vtec and you'll agree with me that you can't here ours.

BTW-the apexi VAFC is not compatable with the F2.x. ASk apexi and chdeck on the chart that comes with it.

Niedejb had one on his 2.2, but I imagine it was only to adjust air/fuel for his boost.

If I were you I wouldnt ask Apex anything. When I called a while ago they said it didnt even work with our 3.0 or atleast they werent aware of it. I had to get the wiring diagram from a local body shop and hook it up. Luckly it worked on the first try.

they probably just didn't know what motor the cl had. if you told them AV6 they would have known, cause that motor is listed on the chart for the VAFC. the F-series isn't.

so true!

our CL's were never designed to be a sport car. they were designed for ride and style. i am willing to bet that when Acura conceptualized this car prior to the 97 release the target audience was not people who wanted a fast car, but more of a luxurious ride and a sporty look at an economical price.

this was as always my opinion and i'll admit that it might be wrong.

sorry to get off topic.

Your not wrong. This I'm sure is exactly right. Just look at our cars. Woodgrain. VTec but only SOHC. 3.0s don't even have an optional manual tranny. Our cars are not designed to be quick racey cars, they are luxury coupes. However, drop an h22 in then you have a quick racey car hehe.

true about oursa, but have you ever been in a 5 speed ex?? the vtec is just like a b16, except it doesn't pull quite as hard. Sounds the same tho. And always kicks in at the exact rpm every time. Ours just gradually get louder

I drove my friends F23 Accord yesterday. While I didn't notice much change in the sounds except the obvious fact that it was revving higher, I could feel VTEC engage in 1st gear while stomping on it.

I had a freind with an f22 Accord that had an Apexi vafc. He had Vtec engagement at 5000rpm and w/header you could hear it. H22's are known to have the loudest Vtec engagement. My H has 11:1 compression and has one of the loudest Vtec engagement's me and most of my friends have ever heard.

All I know is that vtec does not "engage" at any point in my F23

Mark is that stock compression, if not what pistons are you using? You said you had the Euro-R Accord H22 engine right?

Yes, that is stock for a type-R motor. The (internal casting)on the block, the pistons, cams, head, fuel rail, fuel injectors, intake manifold, throttlebody, transmission, are all different on type-R's. That goes for any type-R, not just H22's. Thats why many people put the type-R internals and other goodies in their motors, bucause their the shit.

The should tell you that I was referring to the fact that Vtec is not very evident. I was being facetious, but apparently that fact was lost in the argument....and I didn't mean to "hijack" the thread.
