All my suspension problems...
All my suspension problems...
So I went to this local shop (first time ever) it's kinda new so I figured what the hell. The place totally sucked. It was a typical rice shop with employees who know shit.
They charged me 45.00 to look at my suspension...
Almost got into a fist fight about this considering he only spent 10-15 minutes.
He says I need to replace:
All my bushings
Upper ball joints
Pillow mounts
He then told me to go with Energy bushing kit for like 200 and like 120 labor then I was like
Then he wanted to sell me these AROSPEED pillow mounts for like some crazy ass price.
Im soo confused when it comes to suspension. Do I really need the whole front bushings replaced? My car is squeaking creaking and crunching like crazy. I'm brining it to a shop on tuesday that i've been to there known for air bags, and slammed trucks and specialize in suspension.

honda bushings are fine. that guy sounds like a total fool who probably doesnt have Energy Suspension bushings in his car. the Energy Suspension bushings are polyurethane (stiffer), instead of rubber like the factory bushings. theyre good if you have a race car, but are very harsh in daily driving especially if you replace all the front suspension bushings. bring it to an experienced shop, maybe you just need some stuff lubed up.
it'll be damn near impossible finding honda bushings separate from the control arms...i've yet to see a place that sells the bushings separately (unless it's a civic) so you'll need to buy a whole bunch of arms that'll cost a whole lot of money
did you install new swaybars or anything? you might just need to lubricate the bushings more...rubber bushings don't need lubrication and generally won't squeek...but yours are probbly shot anyways...but i'd suggest looking elsewhere for problems before replacing the bushings...almost every car on the road has worn bushings....not sure what kind of problem you are having
the polyurethane bushings will make the car stiffer...but i doubt you'll find it unbearable....plus they are a helluva alot cheaper to buy...a front masterkit can be had for $100....that's less than one pair of upper control arms
but it's your money...goodluck
