Alarm problem

Hey everyone, haven't posted here much but I am having a bit of a problem and wondered if others had experienced the same. I have a 99 3.0 CL with approximetly 107,000 miles on it, I have owned the car for roughly a year now without a problem (except those annoying window regulators). Anyways, Yesterday morning I woke up to the sound of my alarm going off, I shrugged it off as it has gone off before and turned it off and went to take a shower. Got out of the shower and there it was again, alarm was going off! At this point I went outside and manually unlocked the door with the key, started the engine and than turned it off and relocked the car with the key manually. No more than 5 minutes later the alarm is going off again!!! Arrrgh, it has done the same since than everytime I lock it. I finally got fed up and took the fuse that controls the security system out, but of course that means the car wont start, so it's now a major inconvenience. I might mention that the alarm on this car is the stock alarm, and nothing has been changed interally. The audio system and all wiring in the car is stock. If anyone has any suggestions I would be open to hearing them, I really DONT want to have to take the car to an Acura dealer and overpay to have them fix it. Thanks for your help everyone!!

check your hood sensor. if its out of adjustment the alarm thinks its being broken into.

Had the same problem myself, although I think its related to my friend smashing my car into a pole (dumbass!). Anyway, I have a 98 3.0 CL and when I removed the fuse to disable the alarm the only thing it disabled as well was my stereo. While it sucked driving around with no tunes, the car would start and run fine. Is there a difference in the 99 with the fuses?

Anyhow, the strange part is I left the fuse out for about a week driving around and then I finally put it back in. The radio started working again and the alarm quit randomly going off. This was more than a month ago and it still seems to somehow have "fixed" itself.

No idea if my alarm works or not anymore, but I really don't care. The keyless entry works and the little LED blinks. Once I realized you could disable the alarm in my car in like 20 seconds I figured that damn LED does more for me than the actual alarm itself as a theft deterent - how lame!

Mine did the same thing a few years ago, though when it would go off it would drain the battery, well come to find out my battery was near the end of its life, and after I replaced the battery I never had the problem again. So you may want to look at your battery and see if its time for a new one.

I will look into the battery and hood latch. Thanks for your replies everyone. The fuses for the 99 must be different becuase when I remove the fuse that controls the security system the car wont start. All that happens when you turn the key is an annoying clicking sound.

No its no different for the 99 then any other 1st gen. I had the fuse the runs thae marker lights etc. go out and whenever I would try to lock the car with the remote it would blow out the security fuse as well. And when that would happenm it didn't even turn over.

All I know is my alarm was going off, I pulled the top-right fuse if you are standing in front of the car looking into the engine, and the alarm went off. My radio also quit working because I did this, but the car started and ran fine. So got me.
