Air Intakes

What do people like as far as air intakes go? I had a PRM Cold Air on my Civic, went down in the wheel well, but; had a wet and dry land set up. I was under the impression that big Funnel exposed filters just suck up hot air from the engine compartment. I currently have a K&N in the stock box.

Opinions? Thanks.

Did you get a 94-97 Accord application, or do they make one for the CL? I've heard good things about Injen. Did you get the race division? What is the difference?

What is your set up? Thanks, man!

I was just trying to decide between an AEM or Injen. I think both are good, heard good things for both and they are both a quality name brand. Any opinions?

Injen doesn't have a bypass valve that i am aware of anyways. That would be enough do get me to go with the AEM for the added safety of not drowning my engine.

AEM cheaper and comes in more colors if that is what you are into. Injen adds more horsepower, but only come polished and cost about $60-70 more than a good deal on an AEM. A bypass vavle is only a good thing if there is a chance of your filter being submerged under water. I don't know about you, but i am not offroading with my CL, so all it would do in my application would be reducing some HP.

Yeah, but if it starts pouring down rain and you hit a puddle...that can happen very easily.

Yep, i have an aem cai, i love it compared to my old weapon R dragon short ram. I dont have a bypass, some people like them, some hate them, i am a hater. You gotta cut into your brand new intake and lose some of your gained hp. Yeah you can hit a puddle, but the oil on the filter is retardant of that, only if the filter goes under water hydrolock occurs in MOST cases.

It is never easy is it. There always is a catch to every good mod. Good high end but low end suffers......You put on a bypass, you lose hp.....The things we put ourselves through to make our cars go fast and sound good!!!!

so get a top speed short ram. It sounds fucking awesome and gives you a decent gain on the top end.

I installed an AEM short ram about 2 weeks ago. I'm real happy w/ the performance gain. It was louder than I expected, but that's good.

94-97 4cyl accord. Got the race division CAI off of ebay. You can put an aem bypass on your Injen. I thought that the injen was better than the aem because they use 3 inch pipping and it looks better imo.

Bigger piping=MORE POWER.
