Air Intake help

I'm most likely gonna get a cold air intake for my 1997 Acura 3.0 CL, but since I'm pretty new to cars....I wouldn't know how to install them.....are there instructions anywhere that would tell me how to install it? I'm thinking of AEM.

Also...what % tint would be nice on a 3.0 CL? I'm also thinking of tinting...thanks in advance

20% looks best IMO. I wish I had gone lower. I got 25% right now.

AEM is a nice cai..i had mine installed though because i did not trust myself to move the shit around...make sure you get the bypass valve though, some people will tell you not to because of the HP loss, but I was too paranoid that my car would hydrolock. Especially for you since you live in WA, I'm sure you see a lot of rain up there. As for tint, I have 35% on the sides and 20% across the back since that is what is legal here in FL. I wish I had the 20% all around though, but with my luck I'd get a ticket for it. Anyways, good luck with your work and be warned that once you start, you cant stop

The CAI install is pretty straight forward, I'd say try it yourself before you take it to a shop. I've done 3 CLs with no problem. I have a bypass on mine. Some say its not worth it, but trust me, its given me a piece of mind when it floods and I'm driving around. HP loss is negligable...Its like 1 HP. :ghey:

I remember the intake sounded better with out the bypass piece of crap on it. I ran it on my car for months in florida (flood all the time) and im dropped 2"+ never had a problem. But right now I have the short ram cause i wanted to try something different and I luv it.

yea, you probably wouldnt ever had a problem, but 1 HP less is a very small price to pay to ensure peace of mind that water wont get into my engine..what kind of gain do you notice from the short ram? more/less than the cai?
