I think you might have too many miles to switch to synthetic, but you can try if you want to. I did it on my other car at 128k and it was fine till I sold it at 180k.

I use 5w30 because I live in a colder climate. If you live it a warm climate you might want to use heavier weight oil.

I use Mobile 1, but that's synthetic.

I called the Acura dealership and they said we don't have an in cabin filter. I also heard somewhere else that we do. I think we do.

syn or not to syn

I suggest not to. Not only because sunthetic oil is like a bleach or a cleaner. An older or higher mileage motor depends on the gunk build up to keep it's fluids in or prevent it from leaking. If you know for a fact that the motor was well taken care of then it wouldn't matter. As far as 5w30 or 10w30, I preffer the 5w30 not only because that's what acura reccomended but it'a universal weather oil. It can withstand from extreme heat to extreme cold. I accidentally picked up a 5qt bottle of 10w30 instead of 5w30 and didn't realize it until everything was tightend and wiped down. The car ran slightly smoother but made the motor work a little harder than it needs to. 5w30 has better gas mileage too. I use castrol gtx religiously but would also use mobil 1 because they are both italian formulas and performance proven. I've tested both of them on my last car which was a 91 civic si hatch by racing it every chance i could get and it was still reliable as hell even when I sold it at 229,xxx miles.

just a little bit of info.

I use Mobile 1 synthetic in my car, but I have about half the miles on it that you do. If you do use a syn, definately use a high mileage, or use the castrol high mileage syn. But for as many miles as you have, I would say stick to a regular high mileage oil like maxlife.

Whats the difference between synthetic and sythetic blend?
Don't you get more mileage with synthetic?

Thanks

don't get synthetic now if the car hasn't had it all along. A high mileage oil like MaxLife is the best bet. cleaning oil off driveway
