Adding intakes on a high Cl w/ high miles

What's up CL lova'z out there. I've been reading alot about alot of issues and learning new things. Thanx to you all. This is my first posting so I hope I get alot of feed back. I have an 98 CL, 4 cylinder stock engine with currently 83+ K used up on it. I want to add an intake the my engine to give it a little more horse kick. Am I wasting my time? I don't race and I don't push it to much. It's my pimp ride (And you all know a pimp makes a slow entrance) so I chill with it. Also what else can I do to boost the horses without getting to the lint of my pockets?

Welcome to the fourm................your not wastin time so go ahead & put an intake on there. I mean sooner or later youll have to do a tranny swap but other then that......just mod your cl slow & jump on good deals for stuff.

i put an AEM CAI on with 143k...its worth it if you can get it cheap. adds more aggresive noise...the HP gain is minimal but noticeable until you get used to it.

I just added one onto my 99 CL w/ 58K today. The horsepower seems minimal, but the thing screams in the top end of each gear. Good luck w/ yours pimp...

I have 121k on my CL, and I'm still modding it. Feel free to add an intake with no worries, and welcome to the board....

if you are looking to save money on gas dont get the intake cause while it does have minimal effects on mileage, from what i have read on this board you will want to nail it everytime to hear that intake howl thus killing your gas mileage haha

for fuel get some bigger wires 8.8mm new spark plugs, intake and and exhaust if you dont want to go all the way from the cat just get yourself a muffler, but if you want to be a pimp get an exhaust from the cat back and add some resonators so you can make the heads turn especially rollin in slow will have a mean growl and you intake will be hissin. Mpg will raise, you will get some more power and have a brand new sound you could also get a new battery go for the optima that battery is the shit, you can run your systen lights or whatever and the bigger spark will burn more of the fuel which will give you more mileage as well. you can turn you throttle cable down a little and make you rpms run a little lower as well with all that you will see an increase in your gas mileage will be great i promise just as long as you r light on the gas pedal.

if you dont like that loud shit have fun with your headers, you can get an exhaust that is not loud at all, just tell the shop exactly what you want. the battery will supply you new plugs and bigger wires in the end will burn the fuel completely and your car will have plenty of juice; your car will be set for any future mods as well like amps and lights or whatever the hell you want to do that is going to take volts you will be ready and wont end up stuck getting someone to jump your shit.
